The decision to 'put to sleep' your beloved pet is one of the most difficult and painful decisions to make.
Despite all your love and care, knowing when the right time to say goodbye isn't easy.
As pet owners ourselves who have loved and lost our own animal companions, we understand and empathise with how difficult it is to be faced with the impending loss of a pet and are here to guide you through the process.
We believe this final time should be calm, unhurried, peaceful and pain-free.
A time to say goodbye to your pet in a compassionate and dignified way.
At CT Vets, we understand why so many owners wish to say goodbye to their beloved pet in the comfort of their own home.
The many benefits of home euthanasia include:
1. Your pet will be most comfortable at home.
2. You will be most comfortable at Home.
A calm, peaceful and familiar environment (no stressful drive or wait in a clinic)
3. The procedure can happen at the pet’s favourite area (this may be the garden, a favourite sofa or laid on the owner's bed with them)
4. All friends and family can be present to say goodbye
5. The privacy to grieve at home
6. The Vet will take all the time you need and will provide with counsel
What to Expect
"We had to say goodbye to our lovely Maltese Harry last week . He was almost 13 and it’s broken our hearts ... thank goodness for Stefano he came to our home and was so kind and compassionate, he understood totally what we were going through and made a sad time more bearable . He treated Harry previously with his lovely wife at our home and they were both wonderful It’s much less stressful for pet and owner to have this service at home especially if your pet hates the vet !! And they never rush they always have time to talk and advise . I really can’t thank or recommend them enough .. such lovely people . They took time to send us a card with a lovely message which meant so much . In my opinion, you’ll never find a better vet .."

When we visit your pet and once you are ready, we will gently give a small injection of calming sedation so that they drift into a peaceful sleep and we encourage you to stay with them during this time. Once they are no longer aware of their surroundings, you may decide whether to stay with them or leave the room.
Aftercare Options
We can then help you with the aftercare options. If you have a suitable garden and would like your pet to have a home burial, we can advise you on what to do next. Alternatively, you may prefer a communal cremation with no ashes returned or an individual cremation with your pet’s ashes returned to you. We work with Surrey Pet Cemetery in South Godstone, who is the only independently run Pet Cemetery and Crematorium in Surrey, and will arrange all your needs with them directly on your behalf. You may wish to keep the ashes in a special urn, have a small memorial keepsake, a small fur clipping or have a clay pawprint made so please let us know if you have a different preference.
We believe that saying goodbye to a precious pet should be respectful and unhurried. A peaceful end not driven by time but by pure love and compassion so whatever your wishes, we want you to feel comfortable with your pet’s care, therefore, please do not hesitate to ask if you have any special requests.
Religious ceremonies or other special requests can be accommodated
